Don Paulson is the curator and board member of the Ouray County Historical Society, a board member of the Ridgeway Museum, and editor of the Journal of Ouray County Historical Society.
He was Professor of Chemistry at California State University, Los Angeles, for 36 years, where he conducted research on the mechanism of oxygen binding to hemoglobin and taught organic chemistry.
Don has written over 30 scientific publications and numerous articles and given many talks on southwestern Colorado history.
He retired to Ouray, Colorado in 2006. Don enjoys nature photography, model railroading, hiking and jeeping in the San Juan Triangle.
